"The first person I ever loved never knew it, and still doesn’t. We are animals, but we are so peculiar."

"Everybody wants to escape from Oz. But the truth is, there is no escape. Let’s say you manage to sneak out. Then you gotta run and keep running. A life of running away ain’t no life at all. Better to deal with where you live. The real measure of a man is not where he lives, but how; how he makes the best of it."

"There comes a time when you look into the mirror and you realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. And then you accept it. Or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking in mirrors."

mols:

I think you could fall in love with anyone if you saw the parts of them no one else gets to see. Like if you followed them around invisibly for a day and saw them crying in their bed at night or singing in the shower or humming quietly to themselves as they make a sandwich or even just walking along the street. And even if they were really weird and had no friends at school, I think, after seeing them at their most vulnerable, you wouldn’t be able to help falling in love with them.

"

It’s rare when you say goodbye to someone that you know its going to be the last time.
You can try and say all those things you should have said before.

Or you can hold on and hope that the moment will last a lifetime.

"She did not need much, wanted very little. A kind word, sincerity, fresh air, clean water, a garden, kisses, books to read, sheltering arms, a cosy bed, and to love and be loved in return."

"If you were to press your heart close up against somebody else’s heart eventually your hearts will start beating at the same time. And two little babies in an incubator, their hearts will beat at the same time. Love that. So if you have somebody in your life that is prone to anxiety, like myself, and if you happen to be a calm person, you could come up and hug me heart to heart and my heart hopefully would slow to yours. And I just love that idea. Or maybe yours would speed up to mine. But either way, we’ll be there together."

"Maybe you and I can get a drink and we can try and figure out this thing between us. Why I cried… Because I’ve never felt about anybody the way I feel about you. And I want to fuck you until we merge into a Chimera, a mythical beast of penis and vagina, eternally fused, two pairs of eyes that look only at each other, and lips, ever touching, and one voice that whispers to itself."
