"#8 The last time we had sex your hips made Picasso out of my neck (and then my waist) like love literally didn’t exist before the second I tasted it in my mouth that night. You uninvented time when you climbed on top of me."

I saw him

suspended in the atmosphere

hanging on the pieces of a man

that no longer looks back at him in the mirror

he doesn’t even realize that he’s become his own ghost

a spectre

an apparition

haunting the man that he would be

if he could just shake the cold grip of the chemicals that have transposed their hands around his neck

he’s become a man with no shadow

no reflection

just a leaf

in the wind

whispering his story to the breeze

because god is the only one listening

Damn, Rudy.

5. I have seen you crucified too. Spread out on billboards to be spiritually impaled by millions of men with eyes like nails who made martyrs of your daughters. So I’m sorry for the music videos, for Justin Timberlake at the super bowl, and the young man on the corner this morning who made you want to shed your flesh and become invisible.

10. Never stop pushing. This world needs you now more than ever.

"Whoever you are, now I place my hand upon you, that you be my poem;
I whisper with my lips close to your ear,
I have loved many women and men, but I love none better than you."

Amplified Stillness: “…I couldn’t touch you without ruining you,so I didn’t touch you at...

acidicsarcasm:

“…I couldn’t touch you without ruining you,

so I didn’t touch you at all.

It’s when you’re on the brink of something
that you lose your balance.
You told me that once.
When I can’t bring myself to say what I need to,
my heart plays Russian Roulette with my throat.
I swear I fired that night, but, nothing.

Someday, I’ll show you the bullet I had for you,
after time has done the wash.
I’ll take it out of the jar of missed opportunities.
We’ll hold it up to the light.
You’ll roll it around your mouth like a fallen tooth.
You won’t forgive me exactly,
but we’ll laugh about how small it is.
We’ll wonder how such a little thing
could ever have meant so much.”

"when I said ‘give me a ring’
she thought I meant a call
now I haven’t had her number for two years
and we keep saying,
how many times are we going to cut these red flags into valentines
you know all those wars we fought have turned our shine into rust
we can’t even touch each others hearts without a tetanus shot"

"If I was a love poet, I’d write about how you have the audacity to be beautiful even on days when everything around you is ugly. I’d write about your eyelashes and how they are like violin strings that play symphonies every time you blinked."

"If you were to press your heart close up against somebody else’s heart eventually your hearts will start beating at the same time. And two little babies in an incubator, their hearts will beat at the same time. Love that. So if you have somebody in your life that is prone to anxiety, like myself, and if you happen to be a calm person, you could come up and hug me heart to heart and my heart hopefully would slow to yours. And I just love that idea. Or maybe yours would speed up to mine. But either way, we’ll be there together."
